Aaron Ekblad linked to Original Six team thanks to Blockbuster trade proposal

Aaron Ekblad is about to enter the final year of his eight-year mega deal with the Florida Panthers, and now, trade rumors are running amock.
The superstar defenseman was a huge reason why the Panthers were able to make a Stanley Cub Final run this year. However, he is now being linked to various teams thanks to trade proposals. Recently, PuckPedia's PuckGM tool came through with a proposal that would see Ekblad on the Detroit Red Wings.
Essentially, all the Panthers would get in return is Ben Chiarot and a second-rounder in 2026. One has to wonder whether or not this PuckGM tool is actually working at full capacity.

The Red Wings are a team that has been rebuilding and are now working towards the playoffs. Having said that, going after Ekblad could end up being a worthwhile excursion for the franchise.
