The Columbus Blue Jackets players currently have to deal with the death of a beloved teammate and leader. It is an absolute travesty, and we cannot imagine what the players, coaches, and front office is going through. Thankfully, the organization is coming through with a massive gesture for the players, in conjunction with the NHLPA.
According to Aaron Portzline, grief counselors will be made available for everyone on the team. This is a huge move that will certainly help with the mental anguish that this has caused so many people. We hope that the players take full advantage of this service. There is absolutely no shame in asking for help.
Our heart goes out to the Gaudreau family during this devastating time. We also express our sincerest condolences to every single member of the Blue Jackets organization who has to endure the emotional weight of this tragedy.
