Overall, it was a magical night for the fans as they got to see Flower play his last-ever game in the city. He is going to be retiring at the end of the season, and many are going to miss his spirit. In the end, his Wild came away with a 5-3 win and Fleury played a solid game as he led his team to the victory.
After the game, there was an amazing moment on the ice as Fleury was awarded the first-star of the game award. Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang stayed on the ice so that they could be there for Fleury's big moment. Flower went over to the two Penguins stars and gave them a hug. It was an amazing moment that will always be remembered.
All of this goes to show that Fleury is absolutely beloved over in Pittsburgh and that will probably never change. He won three Cups with the team, one of which was as a starter. He made a Cup winning save at the buzzer back in 2009, and it was truly one of the greatest moments in hockey history.
With the Flower winding down his career, it's a great time to reflect on these iconic moments. Who knows, perhaps Fleury will have other such moments this year during his farewell tour. No matter what, it has been fun watching Fleury over these last 20 years.
