Jeremy Swayman is one of the best goaltenders in the entire league and he is now ready to play for the Boston Bruins thanks to his new contract.

On Sunday morning, Swayman signed an eight-year deal worth $8.25 million AAV. Overall, this makes his deal worth a total of $66 million. He and the Bruins were embroiled in lots of drama surrounding this contract and fans were worried about whether or not it would ever get signed. However, it finally did and fans are excited for what is to come.
Tuesday, the Bruins are set to begin their season with a game against the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers. While the game might be canceled due to Hurricanes, it seems like the Bruins are prepared for whatever comes next.
In fact, Head coach Jim Montgomery made the surprising declaration that Swayman is a possibility to start on Tuesday. This is a significant and surprising update considering the fact that Swayman did not play at all during the preseason. He didn't even attend training camp.
Only time will tell whether or not the Bruins decide to take the plunge and start him. Even without any training camp play, he is likely a better option than Joonas Korpisalo. While that may seem harsh, it is the reality of the situation. Even with a little bit of rust, it probably won't take Swayman long to get up to speed.
