Garry Bettman has been the commissioner of the NHL for over 30 years now, and during that time, he has certainly made some head-scratching decisions.

One of them now involves the league's broadcast partner, Diamond Sports Group. Bettman recently signed a deal with DSG, which is the company that handles all things Bally Sports. Bally has the rights to nine NHL teams right now, but there is one big issue at play here.

According to Evan Drellich, the company is now going through bankruptcy, and it will be finding out its next steps, very soon.

Interestingly enough, the company fully intends to continue its partnership with the league through the bankruptcy process. David Preschlack, the CEO of Diamond Sports Group, put out a statement claiming as such.

"We are appreciative of the ongoing collaboration and long-term partnerships with the NBA and NHL," the statement reads. "These new agreements that cover NBA and NHL linear and (direct-to-consumer) rights are another major milestone and continue Diamond's momentum toward emergence, which will enable us to provide value for our NBA and NHL partners and continue to serve dedicated local NBA, NHL and MLB fans."
