Tony DeAngelo has had some issues in the NHL throughout his career whether it be getting into fights with his teammates are espousing his political opinions without a second thought to those around him.

DeAngelo spent his last few seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers. However, he has been unable to really remain with either team. Instead, this offseason, he as tasked with finding a new team and NHL contract. Unfortunately, for him, no one took him. Instead, he signed with SKA St. Petersberg of the KHL.
Since that signing, DeAngelo has done an interview with RG.org where he spoke about the negotiation process. It seems as though Tony D is frustrated with how things played out. In fact, it would appear as though very few teams were really willing to give him a shot.
"I waited through most of the summer," DeAngelo said. "It took a bit long. It was back and forth. With a bunch of different things, the negotiation process wasn't where we wanted to go. I had a great opportunity to come here and play in a great League with great players. It was the best situation for myself at this time."

It has been a rough few years for DeAngelo and only time will tell if he can turn things around. It is not going to be easy, and the narratives around him are already fairly prevalent. That said, fans do love a good redemption story, so you really never know what could happen.
