As an Original Six franchise, the Chicago Black Hawks are seen as one of the most legendary teams in the National Hockey League.

However, they have come under fire for their logo. Some feel as though it is racially insensitive. Although some do believe that, others simply do not care or don't engage with that topic. They proudly wear the Blackhawks logo and leave it at that. Recently, the team decided to make a decision about their logo, but for completely different reasons that are not political.

You may be aware that the Blackhawks have a strong rule forbidding people from stepping on the big logo in the locker room. It's superstitious and downright dumb as it forces people to go out of their way to avoid it. Well, the team has decided to remove the logo from the floor altogether. That eliminates the problem quite nicely and it just goes to show that the team has been listening to the online suggestions.

Now, the logo has been placed on the ceiling, where the only thing that can step on it is an insect. It was a drastic move but at the end of the day, the Blackhawks are free to do whatever they want with their logo and branding. For players and the media, they can now breathe a sigh of relief. They no longer have to worry about committing a truly egregious yet accidental error.

Do you believe the Blackhawks' superstitious tradition was a stupid one? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite players and teams.
