LTIR has become a very important tool for teams to help manage their salary cap. Unfortunately, with the rise of usage of this tool, teams have begun to abuse it as well. This summer, the Toronto Maple Leafs have faced criticism about their LTIR usage after they announced Matt Murray would not play next season.

Last season no team used LTIR more than the Vegas Golden Knights. The Knights battled injuries all season, culminating in them lifting their first Stanley Cup. While injuries are apart of the game, navigating the salary cap has become just as important.

Information has now surfaced that one player on the Knights roster wasn't as injured as the team wanted people to believe.

On his recent appearance with Oilers Now, Frank Seravalli shared the following information:

I think Nolan Patrick was maybe a bit healthier than the Vegas Golden Knights might have let on.

This isn't the only time that Vegas has encountered these type of allegations. Last season Mark Stone was placed on LTIR before magically being deemed healthy for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Nolan Patrick however, didn't play a game last season. If this information is correct it's possible we could see Patrick be a prime candidate for a professional tryout this season.

Patrick was once considered a can't miss top prospect, sadly concussions have hampered his career limiting him to just 222 games since 2017. Patrick has scored 32 goals and added 45 assists.

If the report from Seravalli is incorrect though, it's very likely that Patrick's career is over before it truly began.
