Vegas Golden Knights land one of the top remaining free agents on professional tryout
Training camps are set to begin in just a matter of weeks. Teams around the league are trying to finalize their rosters and that includes signing players to professional tryout contracts.
According to multiple reports, the Vegas Golden Knights have added 24-year-old forward Maxime Comtois on a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Comtois, a native of Longueuil, Quebec became an unrestricted free agent on July 1st when they opted to not issue him a qualifying offer.
Comtois played in 64 games for the Ducks last season, putting up 19 points (nine goals, ten assists), 76 penalty minutes and was a minus-20.
The defending Stanley Cup champions are looking to add some affordable depth to their forward group after losing Teddy Blueger to the Vancouver Canucks during free agency.
Comtois will certainly have plenty of opportunities in training camp and pre-season games to show the Golden Knights brass that he's worthy of signing a contract with them for the 2023-24 season.
