Toronto Maple Leafs provide update on Matt Murray's serious injury that will keep him out this year
When the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that Matt Murray was going to miss the entire 2023/24 season fans were up in arms about the Leafs circumventing the salary cap. The Leafs refused to share information about Murray's healthy leaving many to question if the injury was legitimate.
Today General Manager Brad Treliving put an end to all of that doubt when he finally opened up about Murray and his injury.
Matt Murray requires a significant surgery, per #leafs GM Brad Treliving, and it will happen within the next week.
Details will be disclosed at a further date due to Murray's privacy.
This message should go a long way to shutting down any criticism the Leafs are facing. There is no case where a player would undergo an unnecessary
surgery to help his team circumvent the cap.
Hopefully Murray makes a full recovery from his injury.
