When the Buffalo Sabres acquired former Team Canada goaltender Devon Levi from the Florida Panthers int he Sam Reinhart deal, they knew they were getting a solid goaltending prospect. I'm not so sure that they knew they'd be getting a goalie who may end up becoming a star in the NHL.

Levi, like many players, has been engaged in informal training sessions this summer in preparation for training camp. This week, the 21-year-old showcased his tremendous skill when he made a flurry of saves during one of these sessions, which happened to be caught on video.

One major knock on the Sabres in recent years has been their goaltending. Obviously, with Levi's upside being as high as it is, the Sabres may have found themselves in a position where their greatest weakness is about to become a strength, which could have major implications on the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference.

Levi signed his entry-level contract with the Sabres back in the spring after completing his second year at Northeastern University. He was able to get into 7 games before the end of the 2022-23 season, posting a 5-2-0 record along with a 2.94 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.
