Whenever a player hits the ice, there's always a level of risk involved, and every player is well aware of it, taking all possible precautions to avoid injuries. Unfortunately, sometimes, despite their best efforts, injuries are inevitable.

In last night's clash between the Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken, forward Artturi Lehkonen found himself in a concerning situation. A collision with Jamie Oleksiak sent Lehkonen awkwardly into the boards, head-first.

It was a really scary play Lehkonen going head-first into the boards after contact with Oleksiak. The smallest shove was enough to throw him off balance, and surprisingly, no penalty was called on the play.

Thankfully, Lehkonen managed to skate off, although at a slow pace, heading down the tunnel. Despite leaving the ice under his own power, he was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

Artturi Lehkonen exited the game in the second period. The good news is that he's alert, responsive, and has full movement. However, he's being taken to the hospital as a precaution for further evaluation.

We all hope there's no significant injury to Lehkonen, and he makes a speedy return to the game.
