Colby Barlow was the 18th overall pick of the Winnipeg Jets back in 2023, and as it stands, he is in a bit of a bind with his OHL team, the Owen Sound Attack.

As we reported earlier this week, Barlow requested a trade from the Attack. He was looking to go to the Oshawa Generals or the Barrie Colts. However, it was revealed by reporters that the Attack were not willing to make such a trade. Of course, this is understandable given how close we are to the season, and just how talented Barlow is.
Unfortunately, for the Attack, there is nothing they can do here. Today, Barlow informed the team that he would not be at training camp. Instead, he would be focusing on playing for the Jets when they start up their own training camp next month. This is a report that comes from Jesse Courville-Lynch.
Last season with Owen Sound, he had an impressive 40 goals in 50 games. The season before that, he had 79 points in 59 games with 46 goals to boot. Clearly, this kid has a whole lot of talent and they will be happy to get him on the roster, especially with Rutger McGroarty leaving for Pittsburgh.
