As many of you out there already know, Rutger McGroarty was traded by the Winnipeg Jets to the Pittsburgh Penguins last week after an erroneous trade request.

Overall, McGroarty has been lambasted by many for his decision to leave the Jets. However, the team now has to move on and focus on players who remain in the system. One such player is Colby Barlow, who was drafted with the 18th overall pick back in 2023. According to reports, Barlow has now requested a trade.

Don't worry Jets fans. This trade request has nothing to do with the Jets. Instead, it has to do with his OHL squad the Owen Sound Attack. Barlow would like to play for the Oshawa Generals or the Barrie Colts. For now, the Attack has no plans to trade Barlow. That said, he is a talented player who could be a huge asset to any team.

Last season with Owen Sound, he had a whopping 40 goals in 50 games. The season before that, he had 79 points in 59 games with 46 goals to boot. The kid can score and the Jets will be lucky to have him around once he gets out of the Junior game. Hopefully, his tenure in Winnipeg goes better than McGroarty's.

Do you believe that Barlow will be a solid player with the Winnipeg Jets? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
