Overall, the Edmonton Oilers are a team with a whole lot of needs right now, but they don't necessarily have the cap space to get things done.

Recently, they had to trade Cody Ceci in an effort to retain Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. However, in the end, the Oilers let both of those players walk, knowing that they just could not afford those contracts for the production they would be getting in return.

Now, it is being reported by Frank Seravalli that GM Stan Bowman is on the verge of making yet another massive move. Essentially, the Oilers are prepared to trade for a defenseman.

One name that has been thrown around is Tony DeAngelo, although he would be a free agent signing. Meanwhile, there are plenty of other right-handed D-men around the league that the Oilers could acquire. Although teams know that the Oilers are in need. This could drive up prices, and cause a nightmare scenario for Bowman.

Below, you can listen to Seravalli's comments about what the Oilers have planned next.
