Former Vancouver Canucks Prospect Loses It On Ref After Miscall
A former Vancouver Canucks draft pick found himself in a tough spot, not too pleased after catching a stick to the face during a game. Arvid Costmar, now playing for Djurgarden in the Swedish Hockey League, had a less than ideal moment against Vasteras.
Despite getting bloodied up and leaving a trail on the ice, the officials opted not to make a call on the play. Frustrated by the decision, Costmar made his feelings known by yelling at the officials while blood streamed down his face.
The seventh-round pick from the 2019 draft voiced his post-game ordeal, mentioning he required three stitches to close the wound. While he had concerns about his eye initially, it turned out the cut was mostly to the nose.
It's a raw moment showcasing the physical toll of the game, and Costmar's reaction sheds light on the challenges players sometimes face without a corresponding call from the officials.
