BREAKING: Maple Leafs Make Massive Goaltending Changes Before Tonight's Game
The Toronto Maple Leafs are switching things up in the goalie department for tonight's face-off against the Boston Bruins.
In a last-minute move, the Leafs have called up goaltender Martin Jones on an emergency basis, as confirmed by the team's official Twitter account:
"@MapleLeafs have recalled G Martin Jones from the @TorontoMarlies on an emergency basis."
The unexpected shift comes as goaltender Ilya Samsonov is sidelined today due to illness.
With Samsonov out of the equation, it looks like rookie Joseph Woll is set to take the starting position tonight, with Martin Jones stepping in as the backup option. The quick call-up adds an element of unpredictability to the Leafs' goaltending scenario for the game against the Bruins.
