Sam McCue, a seventh-round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, is making waves as he was recently suspended for two games by the OHL.

This announcement was made just a couple of days ago. According to the Ontario Hockey League, McCue got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty as well as a game misconduct. This all went down on Friday, October 4th in a game against the Brantford Bulldogs. It ultimately led to confusion and questions about why such a harsh penalty was brought down.
As it turns out, the whole situation is pretty comical. As a fan described on Twitter, McCue scored a goal and began taunting the other team. He was then sent to the penalty box and eventually ejected. However, he refused to go back to the locker room and that is where the suspension came in.
"He got tossed and refused to go to the dressing room (he was trying to stay in the penalty box instead of walking down the tunnel). And he was tossed following his goal because he was taunting the bench and chirping, Calvin Crombie was barking back from the bench and they were both given a 2 and a 10. There was 11 mins left in the game. Then Mccue did what I said above."
McCue is a fringe prospect as far as the Leafs are concerned. They drafted him in the seventh round and there are no expectations for him to ever play for the franchise. Regardless, he seems to be having fun in the OHL and we look forward to his return from suspension.
