Peter Laviolette is one of the best coaches in the league, and as bench boss for the New York Rangers, he is blessed with one of the best goalies in the NHL, Igor Shesterkin.

Recently, Shesterkin was interviewed by journalist Daria Tuboltseva. During this interview, Shesterkin exposed his own coach for some harsh penalties and rules. Essentially, Laviolette requires that all players show up to games four hours in advance. However, if they miss that time frame, they get hit with a steep fine. Luckily, no one on the Rangers has fallen victim to the rule just yet.

"Last season, Laviolette introduced a rule that everyone must arrive at the hotel four hours before the game starts - this is done so that no one is late for the game because of traffic. If the game is at 7 p.m. and you haven't arrived at the hotel by 3 p.m., there will be a fine.

It has never happened that anyone was late, but there have been times when guys arrived just in time. But I always stayed at the hotel. I like to sleep during the day, so I am never late."

Every single hockey coach has their quirks. At the end of the day, they just want their team to be ready to play. If that means having the guys show up a bit early, then so be it.
