David Reinbacher of the Montreal Canadiens was injured on Saturday night after a hit from Marshall Rifai of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Today, it was revealed that Reinbacher suffered a left knee injury and that he has been operated on already. He will now miss five to six months. This is absolutely devastating especially as Habs fans had a lot of hope for Reinbacher this season. Even if he was going to play in Laval for most of the season, it could have been a great time for him to get some reps and show what he can do.
It is yet another blow to the Montreal Canadiens who lost Patrik Laine to a brutal injury in the exact same game. One has to wonder what the Habs did to upset the hockey gods so much.
In fact, it is believed that Laine will be out until next year. He is certainly done for all of 2024. But when it comes to 2025, it remains to be seen whether or not a comeback is really in the cards there. For all intents and purposes, it seems like his season is over.
A diagnosis for Laine has not been revealed but fans are expecting one to come very soon. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as some people are saying. That said, it will take a miracle for that to be the fact of the matter.
