Joonas Korpisalo flabbergasted after reporters tell him he's the new Bruins starter

Things are looking worse than ever before, and fans are unsure if Swayman will even remain on the roster long-term. With Cam Neely calling out his goaltender, it is clear that things have reached an uncomfortable critical mass.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery came out and named Korpisalo as the starter for opening night. When asked about this by reporters, Korpisalo was absolutely stunned. In fact, this was all news to him as Montgomery had never relayed that decision to him.

All of this lends to the notion that the Boston Bruins are in complete and utter disarray right now. One has to wonder how such a legendary franchise could stoop to this kind of behavior. The Bruins have enjoyed success for so long and now, it feels like they are squandering all of it.

Moreover, there are now reports that Swayman could ultimately demand a trade. If that happens, the Bruins are truly in the gutter. Korpisalo is not a guy who is the solution as a starter. It would put the team in a horrific situation and they only have themselves to blame for it.
