Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins remain in a heated contract negotiation that could reset the goalie market for years to come.

However, things took a turn for the worse on Monday when Cam Neely came out and said that Swayman is refusing a deal worth $64 million over eight years. According to Swayman's agent Lewis Gross, this deal was never presented by the team. It is a contradictory statement that has made the Bruins look pretty incompetent.

Meanwhile, a new report from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet suggests that Swayman is thinking about demanding a trade from the team. As Friedman notes, Neely's remarks yesterday were the likeliest catalyst for such a demand. Needless to say, a terrible move by the Bruins upper brass.
"The moment Neely said, 'I have 64 million reasons why I'd be playing right now,' speculation ran rampant that Swayman would formally ask for a trade. The statement reveals one obvious truth - he is considering it"
At this point, it would not be surprising to see Swayman get traded by the Bruins. It is clear that the Bruins are trying to be antagonistic. Meanwhile, Swayman is staying true to his morals and beliefs. Only time will tell whether or not a solution is going to be realistic.
