Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew have been receiving a ton of tributes to start the NHL season and for very good reason.

Following their passing, teams throughout the league are doing everything they can to make sure the two brothers are thought of in the most respectful ways possible. These tributes are mostly taking place at the beginning of the season. So far, many teams have taken part, even if they are not associated with Gaudreau.
Last night, the Columbus Blue Jackets played against
the Colorado Avalanche. Seeing as though Gaudreau played for the Blue Jackets, fans thought there would be some sort of pre-game acknowledgment. However, there wasn't any. Instead, the team paid homage to Nathan MacKinnon for his MVP win, and nothing else.
As you can see above, there was quite a bit of criticism leveled at the Avalanche, with some feeling like the team was being overtly disrespectful.
"The avs not doing a moment of silence for the gaudreau brothers before the game is absolutely unacceptable- I understand celebrating Nate but having that moment with Columbus in town is just rude."
At the end of the day, this is assuming a lot. Perhaps the Avalanche already ran this by the Blue Jackets. After all, it must be emotionally draining to have to go through so many tributes. It will be interesting to see if the Avs respond to the criticism.
