Hurricanes Brady Skjei gets called out for diving in 1st playoff game
The 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs kicked off with a controversial moment in the first game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Islanders.
Carolina defenseman Brady Skjei found himself at the center of the storm after drawing the first penalty of the playoffs. Islanders captain Anders Lee appeared to tug on Skjei as he drove towards the net, but many felt Skjei went down a bit too easily.
The call didn't sit well with Islanders fans, especially after Evgeny Kuznetsov capitalized on the resulting power play to score. The drama has set the stage for what looks to be a fiercely contested series.
