The Seattle Kraken are hoping to return to the big dance in 2025 and may be aggressive in free agency after missing the playoffs for the second time in their three NHL seasons to far.

Although it is unlikely that Kraken General Manager Ron Francis would participate much in free agency, he may search for supporting players for his core, and there will be no shortage of those when it begins on Canada Day.
The Kraken have been linked to two players, one of them is a past first-round choice, however it's still too early to tell what the free agency market could hold considering that a few could decide to re-sign with their current squad.
If Max Domi and Anthony Duclair choose to test the open market instead of re-signing with their respective teams, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports that the Seattle Kraken will be interested in them.
"A couple of players on Seattle's radar if they hit free agency in July are Max Domi and Anthony Duclair." Pagnotta said.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, who are anticipated to make a strong push to retain Domi, enjoyed a strong season from the 29-year-old. Domi scored 47 points (nine goals, 38 assists) and accumulated 118 penalty minutes in 80 regular season games. He also finished plus ten. In the next seven postseason games, he added four more points.
Even though he didn't score as many goals this season as he did in 2022–2023–Domi might still be a valuable middle-six player for the Seattle Kraken on a shorter contract. Undoubtedly, he might be pursuing a higher salary than the $3 million he was receiving as a Toronto Maple Leaf, but this shouldn't provide too much of a problem for the Kraken. The Kraken have $23 million in salary space as of today, May 27, for the 2024–25 season. Matty Beniers, a free agent, is the most notable player they need to sign.
There will undoubtedly be a lot of interest in Max Domi if he becomes available on Canada Day; the only question is where he wants to play throughout the 2024–25 season and possibly beyond.
