In the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Florida Panthers defeated the Boston Bruins, ending the team's season. After Game 6, the Bruins' departure from the ice probably signified the final time supporters saw Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman together as their goaltender duo.
Bruce Cassidy alternated between Swayman and Ullmark for starts during the regular season, but Jeremy Swayman started most of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The two have combined to become one of the league's greatest goaltending tandems, but good things come to an end, and the Bruins will need a real number one goaltender next season, whether it's Linus Ullmark or Jeremy Swayman.
But it seems like this summer, Ullmark might be relocated and find himself on the outside looking in. David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports that two more teams may get in touch with Linus Ullmark during the course of the next month, making four teams interested in signing him. The teams in question are the Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Edmonton Oilers, Detroit Red Wings, and Carolina Hurricanes.
Lugnvik, Sweden native Ullmark played in 40 games for the Boston Bruins this season, posting a 22-10-7 record, 2.55 goals against average,.915 save percentage, and two shutouts.
We may be in for a bidding war if this many teams are already expressing interest in Linus Ullmark. This is fantastic news for the Boston Bruins, who would like to get as much as possible in return for their Swedish goalie.
