New details emerge in Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau investigation
Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were tragically killed by Sean Higgins, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the motor incident.
Overall, this has been a terrible tragedy. At the time of writing this, Higgins is facing a total of 20 years in prison for his acts. He is still in jail, and he will likely remain there until his trial. It has been a terrible time for the NHL, and we can't even imagine what the family of the two brothers is going through.
Meanwhile, new details have emerged as it pertains to the deaths of the two brothers. According to a report, this new detail has to do with the exact circumstances of the incident, and how Higgins ignored the bikers on the road. He tried to pass a car that was leaving space for the brothers, which led to the accident.
" One of the vehicles, an SUV closest to the brothers, started moving to the left to create room for the brothers. Police and New Jersey prosecutors have said Higgins accelerated around that SUV on the right, driving into the Gaudreau brothers, who both died at the scene."
Our heart continues to go out to the Gaudreau family during this incredibly difficult time. We cannot begin to imagine what they must be going through right now. We hope they are able to find solace in the fact that the entire hockey world is behind them right now.
