The Utah Hockey Club has received some horrible news very early into their season as Sean Durzi has gone down with a significant injury.

According to Frank Seravalli Amazon Prime's Monday Night Hockey, Durzi is going to be out for the next 4 to 5 months as he needs to get surgery on an upper-body injury. He sustained this injury over the weekend playing against the New Jersey Devils when he took a huge hit from Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler.

Utah Hockey Club General Manager Bill Armstrong was the first person to signal that Durzi might be out for a long time. The defenseman is a huge physical presence with the team and they are certainly going to be feeling this massive hole in the lineup.

Last season, Durzi had a caree year with 32 assists and 41 points in 76 games while playing for the now-defunct Arizona Coyotes. This subsequently led to a four-year contract extension worth a total of $24 million. It was well deserved but is now off to a rough start.

Durzi was a second-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2018. Things did not work out for him in Toronto and he eventually moved on to the Los Angeles Kings. He subsequently went to Arizona who then moved to Utah. Either way, Durzi is a player to watch and we wish him a speed recovery.
