After some consideration, Milan Lucic signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins on July 1st to return to the franchise where he began his NHL career and the team he won a Stanley Cup with back in 2011. Lucic revealed this week, though, that he had some other interesting options on the table.

Lucic says that the Boston Bruins weren't the only Original Six franchise to express interest in him this summer as the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs also wanted to sign him.
"Yeah. I talked to Tre a little bit, obviously because I had Tre in Calgary there. So, he expressed some interest, and I was like, 'Yeah, it would be tough for me to be a Leafer', just because of the Boston connection."

Lucic mentioned that Chicago was a real consideration, because he'd have gotten to wear "one of the nicest jerseys in the league" and he happens to have a lot of family there.
"Cool city. Awesome city. For me, I think I have the most family out of anywhere in Chicago. I would've been playing in front of family on a night-to-night basis."

The 35-year-old spent the first eight years of his NHL career with the Boston Bruins from 2007 to 2015, recording a trio of 20+ goal seasons during his prime years.
