Toronto Maple Leafs get even tougher to play against with today's signing
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a commitment to getting tougher to play against for the upcoming season. The Leafs have placed an emphasis on adding players who can win their minutes but also leave their opponents. Feeling it. Today the Maple Leafs announced they have signed Noah Gregor to a professional tryout contract.
The move provides the team with additional grit in a potential bottom six role. Last season Gregor played for the San Jose Sharks.
We have signed forward Noah Gregor to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
In 57 games last season Gregor had 97 hits while starting nearly 60% of his shifts in his own zone. He also added 10 goals and 7 assists. Moves like this will continue to strengthen the Leafs and make it harder for some of their young players to make the roster. But forcing players to earn jobs can only benefit the Leafs long-term.
