Today the Maple Leafs announced they have signed Noah Gregor to a professional tryout contract.
In 57 games last season Gregor had 97 hits while starting nearly 60% of his shifts in his own zone. He also added 10 goals and 7 assists. Moves like this will continue to strengthen the Leafs and make it harder for some of their young players to make the roster. But forcing players to earn jobs can only benefit the Leafs long-term.
