Tomas Tatar may have already signed a secret contract with an Eastern Conference team
Tomas Tatar is one of the top names remaining on the free agent market. Tatar is one of the few true goal scorers available on the market and could provide a team additional secondary scoring. While Tatar has been connected to teams via professional tryout. There is now some belief that he is already signed.
With Tatar unsigned, insiders are beginning to speculate that the famously secretive Lou Lamoriello has possibly added Tatar to his roster. Lou has a history of keeping things secret until the last possible moment and Stefen Rosner believes that could be what's happening here.
With Islanders' veterans in Zach Parise and Cal Clutterbuck seeming unlikely to play this season due to potential retirement and injury respectively, perhaps a signing of Tatar could be a good fit for the Islanders.
Tatar would bring a much needed offensive punch and the ability to score goals. Tatar can move up and down the lineup, and provide veteran leadership to the team. Last year Tatar added 20 goals and 48 point season for the New Jersey Devils.
It wouldn't shock anyone for Lamoriello to have seen this fit and made the deal without making anything public. At this point, only time will tell.
