Now undoubted one of the greatest players in hockey history, Sidney Crosby returned to his home province of Nova Scotia yesterday for a preseason NHL game against the Ottawa Senators in Halifax.
Tickets were only available for moments as Nova Scotian NHL fans, and those wanting to see the return of Sidney Crosby, wanted to get an up close view to the highest level of hockey. With such a high demand, ticket scalpers were out in full force, and the re-sale market became unbelievable.
Willy Palov, a sports reporter in Halifax, shared an image on social media yesterday showing off the absurd re-sale price of tickets to last night's game - tickets were exceeding $10,000.
While it's not common that the NHL and Sidney Crosby play a game in Halifax, a price exceeding $10,000 is ridiculously unfair. Ticket prices were initially listed for a range between $70 and $200, but the resale market became insane, and drove honest fans away from being able to see the game they love play where they live.
