Former first round pick and member of Team Canada to be placed on waivers today at noon
Every single year, there are a couple of players placed on waivers that catch people by surprise. Earlier this week fans were surprised when the Ottawa Senators placed former 19th overall pick, Lassi Thomson on waivers. Thomson was claimed by the first team in waiver priority, the Anaheim Ducks.
Tonight after defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Ottawa Senators announced that tomorrow, they will be placing another former first round pick and top prospect on waivers Jacob Bernard-Docker. JBD will be placed on waivers alongside Egor Sokolov tomorrow at noon.
Following exhibition win tonight, OTT announces some cuts. Most interesting development: Jacob Bernard-Docker and Egor Sokolov on waivers.
Bernard-Docker was picked 28th overall by the Senators in the 2018 NHL Draft. After 3 years at the University of North Dakota, JBD transitioned to the professional game. After three years he has yet to crack the Senators top six defenseman.
The Senators could find themselves in a very difficult spot if they lose another former top prospect on Thursday.
