Ryan Reaves sends a very firm message to Arber Xhekaj
The Toronto Maple Leafs found themselves in a very tough spot this offseason. With another postseason failure and a GM change, there also came an obvious need to change the culture inside of the Maple Leafs' dressing room.
When Brad Treliving took over and signed the legendary enforcer Ryan Reaves, the move was almost entirely influenced by changing the team's culture.
During a game earlier this week Reaves faced off against Arber Xhekaj in a much anticipated fight that unfortunately didn't deliver.
When asked about his fight with the Xhekaj, Reaves was adamant about wanting a rematch. The fight didn't live up to expectations, mostly becoming a wrestling match, and it was seemingly clear from the beginning that another rendition of this fight would occur later in the season.
I don't like getting jumped. I don't know if I've ever really jumped anybody. You want to fight? Just ask me.
Reaves certainly seems to be impacting the Leafs both on and off the ice in a positive way, and hopefully will succeed in dragging the Leafs into more consistently passionate battles on the ice.
