Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy will have another honor bestowed upon him, this time from the QMJHL. Roy is going to have an award named after him.

"Commissioner Mario Cecchini will confirm this during a press conference organized on the sidelines of the Quebec Remparts game on Sunday, before which the champion banners of the Gilles-Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup will be raised. Roy will also be there. - TVA Nouvelles"

The Patrick Roy Award will be given annually to the best QMJHL goaltender in the regular season. It is essentially the league's version of the NHL's Vezina Trophy.

Roy had a three-year QMJHL career with a record of 58-86-3. Despite the poor numbers in junior, Roy would go on to be a top goaltender. He is number #2 all time in wins with 551.

The 57 year old is co-owner of the Quebec Remparts and served as the team's general manager and head coach for several years. He said before this season that it will be his Gm and coach.

Roy has a ton of NHL hardware to his name, three Conn Smythe trophies, three Vezina trophies, five William Jennings trophies, a Jack Adams award and four Stanley Cups.
