The not-so-well-kept secret in hockey regarding the five players from Team Canada's 2018 World Juniors gold medal-winning squad linked to a police investigation is no longer shrouded in mystery.

The Globe & Mail first reported that Alex Formenton, a former Ottawa Senators draft pick playing in Switzerland, had appeared at London Police headquarters following an investigation into an alleged assault. TSN now reveals the identities of the other players involved.

"Four National Hockey League players Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, and Cal Foote have been directed to surrender to police in London, Ont., to be charged with sexual assault in connection with an alleged incident that occurred during a Hockey Canada event in the city in June 2018, two sources familiar with the matter told TSN.

The players are expected to surrender before the London Police Service holds a press conference on Monday to update the public on the high-profile case." - Rick Westhead, TSN

The remaining four players named by Westhead took leaves of absence from their respective NHL teams over the last week or so. The reasons behind these leaves were undisclosed by the teams involved - Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, and New Jersey Devils - though Calgary hinted at Dube taking a mental health leave.
