NHL analyst believes the Edmonton Oilers could trade Evander Kane if things go south
The Edmonton Oilers goal this season is simple, it's Stanley Cup or bust. The Oilers are entering year 9 of Connor McDavid's NHL career and they have yet to reach the Stanley Cup finals. This year that needs to change, or the Oilers may be forced to make real changes.
To achieve that goal, the Oilers must take on a ruthless mentality, the same type of mindset that helped the Vegas Golden Knights win the Stanley Cup. One NHL analyst believes that if the Oilers get off to a slow start or struggle at all this season, the Oilers will look at trading forward Evander Kane.
Allan Mitchell of The Athletic lists F Evander Kane as a potential trade piece for the Edmonton Oilers if he and the team struggle out of the gate this upcoming season.
A deal for Kane could be difficult with so lots of teams shying away from him due to some of his off ice issues. But Kane does the most difficult thing in the NHL which is scoring goals, so he will definitely have a market.
Only time will tell, but this year is make or break for the Oilers.
