Matthew Tkachuk reveals that he has future plans to play with younger brother, Brady
Obviously, it goes without saying that Matthew Tkachuk is one of the brightest young stars in hockey. While his younger brother, Brady Tkachuk, isn't quite on the same level as Matthew, he's still an excellent young player in his own right.
Recently, during an appearance on the Cam & Strick podcast, Matthew Tkachuk revealed that wants to team up with Brady twice before his time in professional hockey is over. He wants to win a gold medal with the brother at the Olympic Games and also wants to play on the same NHL team and pursue a Stanley Cup together.
We've talked about that a lot since we both got into the NHL. I mean who knows? The only opportunity might be a team USA thing but in the NHL, I think he would have to come to Florida. I'm not going up there. I don't know, he's got a few years left before he decides on doing anything.
After spending the first 6 years of his career north of the border playing for the Calgary Flames, Matthew has no desire to return to Canada. So, as he had stated, if the two brothers ever do want to play together, it will have to involve Brady heading back to the U.S., perhaps in Florida. With the Tkachuk family having deep roots in St. Louis, however, perhaps the two will end up meeting at home, becoming Blues at some point down the line.
