When the Boston Bruins signed Mitchell Miller they felt they'd signed a high level prospect for nothing more than cash. Unfortunately for the Bruins the backlash from the fan base and some incorrect information from Miller's representatives led to the Bruins terminating his deal the next day. However the Bruins weren't able to simply walk away from the deal and it ultimately cost the team some money.

The Bruins management claimed that they had immediately severed ties with Miller, but a report came out last week from David Staples that the team actually only terminated the deal 3 months later. Now CapFriendly has revealed how much the Bruins ended up paying Miller for his time in Boston.

His annual salary would have been $845,000 per year in the NHL, while dropping to $82,500 in the AHL. According to CapFriendly, Miller was given close to $167,000, which he keeps.

Miller never played a single game for the Bruins or their affiliate but ultimately earned himself a $167,000 payday. This was the second time Miller had an NHL agreement terminated. After Miller, was initially drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020 he had his draft rights renounced after details of the same incident arose.
