A scary scene unfolded in Minnesota tonight, as a Chicago Blackhawks prospect had to be removed from the surface by the medical team on a stretcher. Blackhawks prospect Sam Savoie was heading towards the boards, when he gets caught with an opposing player, and falls horribly into the wall.
The in game microphone caught Savoie's painful scream as he clutched his leg. Medical staff rushed to Savoie and he was quickly loaded onto a stretcher and was taken off the ice.
The arena microphone picked up a blood curdling scream from Savoie as he clung to his leg. The medical staff for the Blackhawks quickly came to tend to him, and eventually removed Savoie in a stretcher.
Savoie still had the strength and wherewithal to give a thumbs up to his teammates, but the rookie looks like he suffered a horrible injury, and will face some time away from the ice in recovery.
