Heading towards the middle of August, time is beginning to dwindle for remaining free agents looking for new homes for next season, so, naturally, when a free agent shows up in an NHL city with his sticks and equipment, it might be an indication that they intend on signing a contract and getting right to work.
According to former Maple Leafs employee Jack Han, now a hockey consultant, feisty forward Jujhar Khaira has been spotted in Montreal; take a look.
Khaira, 28, was limited to just 51 games in Chicago last season with the Blackhawks and scored 8 goals and 14 points. If he's looking for a big market to play in to try to boost his value, the Montreal Canadiens would be a great place for him to get some exposure. While there will be added pressure from the media spotlight in Canada, Montreal is a re-building team with not a lot of expectations yet and Khaira may actually receive a fair bit of playing time there.
