Former 10 overall pick from 2014, Nick Ritchie was among the 14 cuts made by the St. Louis Blues on Friday. The 27 year old, has been released from his professional tryout contract.

"Nick Ritchie has been released from his PTO by the #stlblues." TSN's Chris Johnston said in a post on X.

Ritchie, 27, appeared in three preseason games for the St. Louis Blues, tallying one assist, six shots on goal and one fight, which he ended up receiving a game misconduct for after not having his fight strap tied down.

The Orangeville, Ontario native has spent the last eight seasons in the National Hockey League after being a first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks back in 2014. Ritchie has played for the Ducks, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Arizona Coyotes and Calgary Flames.

Ritchie has hit a cross roads in his NHL career, but luckily for him he's still young and has the size at 6'3, 236 lbs that teams covet to fill a role in their bottom six. Time will tell what's next for Ritchie.
