When Peter Chiarelli was fired by the Edmonton Oilers, many thought it could be the end of his NHL career. After a successful stint in Boston, Chiarelli was a complete mess in Edmonton. However, it seems like Chiarelli may have one more chance left in the NHL.

The official sale of the Ottawa Senators to Michael Andlauer is likely going to be finalized this week and when it happens it appears Andlauer will be willing to give Chia another shot.

During an appearance on the 'Coming In Hot' podcast, Brent Wallace shared that Andlauer plans on bringing in Chiarelli to be a member of the Senators.

"We all know he has close ties to Michael Andlauer, I think you're going to see Peter Chiarelli apart of this organization" Wallace said.

Chiarelli, 59, has spent 13 years as a General Manager in the National Hockey League with the Bruins and Oilers between 2006 and 2019. Chiarelli won the Stanley Cup in 2011 with the Bruins and in 2015 while with Edmonton, drafted Connor McDavid first overall.

There is a lot of pressure on the Senators to finally take that next step this season and compete for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. If they struggle early on in the season, General Manager Pierre Dorion could find himself on the hot seat.
