Boston Bruins sign one of the top remaining free agents to PTO
Over the last four seasons Danton Heinen has spent time with the Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins. Now it appears a reunion is in the cards for the Boston Bruins and Heinen.
On Tuesday, the Bruins made the announcement that they have signed Danton Heinen to a professional tryout contract. Heinen will join the Bruins for training camp and preseason games. Heinen becomes the second forward the Bruins have signed to a PTO, he joins veteran Alex Chiasson, who signed a PTO last week.
Heinen, 28, was selected 116th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2014. Heinen, a native of Langley, BC spent parts of 4 seasons in Boston (2016 to 2020). He appeared in 220 games where he had 103 points (34 goals, 69 assists).
The Bruins are looking to add depth to their lineup, but must do so on a very limited budget. It will be interesting to see what moves the Bruins will make to get themselves ready for next season.
