On Tuesday, one member of the team who may be in line to receive the honour and wear the C on his chest spoke about the captaincy, revealing that he's not too concerned with. I am, of course, talking about Brad Marchand, who had this to say.
Marchand, 35, is the longest serving Bruin on the team's roster as he's set to enter his 15th NHL season, all with Boston. The Halifax native seems the likely choice to become Boston's next captain, especially given his role in the their leadership group he's held over the last few seasons.
Marchand isn't the only player in Boston who might be captain material. Charlie McAvoy, David Pastrnak and even someone like Charlie Coyle also make some sense.
