The National Hockey League was having a busy week, but on Tuesday, the much-anticipated announcement of the Hall of Fame class took place.

According to Mike Gartner, chairman of the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee, the following seven people will be admitted in 2024:

- Colin Campbell (Builder)
- David Poile (Builder)
- Natalie Darwitz (Player)
- Pavel Datsyuk (Player)
- Jeremy Roenick (Player)
- Shea Weber (Player)
- Krissy Wendell-Pohl (Player)

It is perhaps no surprise to many in the hockey community that two-time Olympic gold medallist Shea Weber and 14-year NHL veteran Pavel Datsyuk are being inducted in their first year of eligibility. Regarding Jeremy Roenick, he ended his playing career in 2009, therefore he has been waiting a very long time to be admitted.

Later this year, on Monday, November 11th, in Toronto, Ontario, the 2024 Hall of Fame Class will be formally admitted. They will be honored at a gala. The plaque and jacket that the seven people have been inducted into the Hall of Fame will be displayed in the Esso Hall.
