Toronto Maple Leafs Veteran Exits The Game After Suffering A Nasty Injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs streak of bad luck with injuries has taken another hit tonight, this time affecting a seasoned member of their defensive lineup after a frightening incident on the ice.
During the game, in the midst of the first period, veteran defenseman Mark Giordano was part of a break towards the net. As he received a pass and made a move for a scoring opportunity, Giordano lost his balance, resulting in a harsh collision with the boards.
The impact was severe, leaving Giordano visibly hurt and unable to get up on his own. He eventually was assisted off the ice by teammate Morgan Rielly and a team trainer, a moment that left fans and players alike concerned for his condition.
As of now, Giordano hasn't made a return to the game. We'll keep you posted with any updates on his status and the nature of his injury as they become available.
