Revealing on Twitter that center Byron Froese and goaltender Isaiah Saville have been called up from AHL Henderson. In a corresponding move, defenseman Tobias Bjornfot has been placed on injured reserve.
Froese, now in his second season with Vegas, signed a two-year, two-way deal in free agency in 2022.
Although he appeared in nine games with the Golden Knights last season, tallying two points, he has spent this year exclusively with the Silver Knights, amassing six goals and six assists in 33 games.
With 125 NHL appearances to his name, Froese has often played in a fourth-line depth role, a position he is likely to fill if he gets game time. Jack Eichel's absence from the game day skate suggests Froese's call-up may be in anticipation of Eichel's unavailability.
Meanwhile, Saville was only sent down yesterday and has been shuttling between the AHL and NHL due to uncertainties surrounding the availability of Adin Hill and Jiri Patera.
The 23-year-old has had limited appearances this season, starting the year on season-opening IR and making seven appearances with Henderson, where he holds a 2.52 GAA and a .914 SV%.
