Pittsburgh Penguins Superstar Left Dripping Blood After Nasty Injury
In Sunday night's game against the New York Islanders, Sidney Crosby had more than hockey on his mind. Despite the Penguins initially taking a 2-goal lead, Crosby faced a literal hit to the face from Islanders' Mat Barzal during the second period.
Barzal's follow-through on sending the puck caught Crosby high, leaving him sprawled on the ice. The aftermath was evident, with a noticeable cut on Crosby's cheek, marked by a crimson trail as he slid to the Penguins' end.
Crosby, however, managed to skate off under his power but had to temporarily exit the game for necessary repairs. The unexpected New Year's Eve look for Crosby might just add a meaner touch to his celebrations tonight.
