Tij Iginla is the son of Jarome Iginla and he was the sixth-overall pick of the Utah Hockey Club in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

In training camp, all eyes were on the 18-year-old as many were curious to see how he would adjust to the pace of the NHL. Although he had some great flashes, it was clear that he wasn't ready for the big leagues just yet. As a result, it was revealed today that Iginla would be sent down to the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.
Iginla played for the Kelowna rockets last season where he had 47 goals, 37 assists, and 84 points in a 64-game campaign. Needless to say, the kid can play.
There is plenty of time for Iginla to develop into a star in the NHL. As many of our readers know, long are the days of 18-year-olds coming into the league and dominating. There are rare exceptions, but for the most part, it takes a long time to get adjusted to the size, physicality, and pace as well.
Hopefully, Iginla stays the course and continues to show what he can do. As a senior player at the WHL level, he is poised for a massive season with some incredible production. Perhaps even 100 points is on the table for the kid. That would certainly turn some heads as he attempts to make the NHL.
